PhaseOut reads the following data locally on your device to power its features. None of it is transmitted to any server except where noted in section 4.

Data accessed by PhaseOut is used exclusively to provide the app's features. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

• Schedules — your bedtime and wake times are stored locally and used only to trigger actions at the right moment
• Screen time — usage stats are displayed to you inside the app; they are never analysed, aggregated, or sent anywhere
• Battery prediction — battery snapshots are stored locally only to estimate a charge time; never transmitted
• Focus sessions — blocked-app lists and session history are stored locally; used only to display history and enforce focus locks
• Crash data — if the app crashes, anonymous diagnostic data goes to Firebase Crashlytics solely to help us fix bugs

All user-generated data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This includes:

• Your schedules and their settings (bedtime, wake time, actions, days)
• Daily app usage records
• Battery level snapshots for charge-time prediction
• Focus session history and blocked-app lists
• Schedule activity logs

PhaseOut uses one third-party service: Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC). Crashlytics receives an anonymous crash report when the app encounters an unhandled error. Each report contains:

• The type of error and the line of code where it occurred
• Your device model and manufacturer
• Android OS version
• PhaseOut app version number
• Timestamp of the crash

Crash reports do not contain your schedules, usage data, focus history, battery data, or any personally identifying information such as your name, email, or advertising ID.

Firebase Crashlytics is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. PhaseOut has no other network connections during normal operation.

PhaseOut requests permissions contextually — only when you first use the feature that needs them. No permissions are requested on first launch.

• Notifications — to deliver bedtime reminders and schedule alerts
• Usage Access — to display your per-app screen time inside the app
• Notification Listener — to detect and stop active media sessions at your scheduled bedtime
• Display over other apps — to show the focus-lock overlay when a blocked app is opened during a focus session
• Battery optimisation exemption — to keep the background service running overnight so schedules fire reliably
• Do Not Disturb access — only if you enable the DND option in a schedule
• Modify system settings — only if you enable the "Dim brightness" option in a schedule
• Set exact alarms — to trigger the morning restore action at the precise time you set

No sensitive permissions — camera, microphone, contacts, location, SMS, call logs, or external storage — are requested or used.

Because PhaseOut stores no personal data on any server, most data-subject rights apply to your local device — where you already have full control. Specific controls:

• Disable crash reporting — Settings → Privacy → Usage analytics
• Revoke permissions — Android Settings → Apps → PhaseOut → Permissions at any time; revoking a permission disables only the feature that depends on it
• Delete local data — individual history records are clearable from within the app; uninstalling removes everything
• Opt out of analytics — there is no profile to close beyond the Crashlytics toggle above

If you believe PhaseOut has handled your data incorrectly, contact us via the details in section 11. We aim to respond within 30 days.

• We never upload your app usage data, schedules, or focus history to any server
• We never read your messages, contacts, photos, files, or call logs
• We never track your location
• We never share data with advertisers or data brokers
• We never show ads of any kind
• We never require account creation or collect email addresses
• We never sell your data in any form
• We never access your camera or microphone
• We never use your data to build a profile or make inferences about you

PhaseOut is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since PhaseOut requires no account and transmits no personal data, there is no mechanism by which we could collect a child's personal information.

If you have concerns about a child using PhaseOut, please contact us at the address in section 11.

If we make material changes — for example, if a future version of PhaseOut begins collecting additional data or integrating a new third-party service — we will:

• Update the date shown on this page
• Display an in-app notice on the next launch of the updated version
• Describe the specific change clearly in that notice

Continued use of PhaseOut after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
